This morning greeted Tay and I with bad news. I got up, jumped in the shower, he got up and made a phone call. I get out of the shower and my sweet Tay starts my day off with a bang. The house we wanted, the house that we loved, the house that I had mentally already moved into was taken away from us. Apparently, after we looked at the house someone else came along and offered to pay some money in cash. That was all she wrote. Well, previously, the landlord told us that he would give us a call when he was finished with some minor repairs. Phone call never came, so we were expecting bad news. And now we know...bye bye cute sweet dream house with a fenced in yard on a cul-de-sac. All you had to do was give us a phone call...oh well.
So to help my feelings, sweet Tater offered to take me to to Graceland to cheer me up :) Um, heck yes. I love Graceland, I love Elvis. Big time. Tay's NEVER been to Graceland and we live 5 minutes from it! I've been numerous times as a kid, but either way I was stoked! And Graceland decked to the nine's for the holidays, oh yes. Consider me thrilled. I jump on the computer to check prices for tickets. $70 dollars per PERSON to see the whole she-bang. $30 per PERSON just to see the house. Seriously?! It's the holidays and we are desperately trying to save money for our moving expenses and for Tay starting school next year. We decided that visiting Graceland was not in the cards today :(
Oh well, as Forrest Gump once said, "Shit Happens" :)
So after our dream rental home being taken away - no, not taken, robbed from us - and now no Graceland, we decided to head to Red Robin for a burger. Good decision, cheap food. We get done eating and decide to go to Hastings, the ONLY place to find old DVD's since Blockbuster and Movie Gallery have bitten the dust thanks to Redbox. Well, bad things happen in three's...Hastings is closed. Closed Closed. Not moving, not remodeling, closed, as in forever :( Tay and I love Hastings, correction, LOVED. We could kill hours in there looking at books and movies and random novelty items. Well add that to the list of the bad day :(
Then we decide to head to the mall to find a dickey for Tay's Christmas outfit (yes, Cousin Eddie). After searching Wal-Mart, Target, Sears, JC Penny, Dilliards, and Macys...no dickey. Damn.
Needles to say, the Skelton household will be drinking their dinner tonight.
