Memorial Day. Three day weekend. Extended vacations. Extra time with family. While you are celebrating the day off work with beer and a picnic and some time at the lake, please remember the reason for the holiday.
And remember, we shouldn't only remember the those who serve our country on Memorial Day, but every day. Every single day. And when you're out in public, and you see someone dressed in military garb, thank them. Regardless of whether they have served or not, thank them for signing up. Thank them for be willing to take a risk that most of us will not. Thank them for leaving their families to serve and protect us.
And pray for them daily.
Without them, we wouldn't even be celebrating this holiday.
After you have done the above, enjoy the extra day off with your family :)
