Random Ramblings for a Friday

Oh Friday, where have you been? I feel like you're not totally in this relationship. You only show up once a week and you're gone in a flash. I've missed you dearly my sweet friend.

I think the minion missed Friday too!

It's FRIDAY!!

Yesterday, while still at work, Taylor text and asks me, "what do you want to do when you get home?"
My obvious answer, "Let's build a fort!"

I was fully suspecting to walk into the house and see a living room fort, but no. He said he didn't want take all the 'fort-buidling' fun away from me by building it himself. Thanks Tay. We still didn't build a fort though :(
We opted instead to enjoy the nice weather on the patio, drinking a few beers and grilling. If only that was a job we could get paid for!

I'm obviously excited about the weekend - did you see my giddy minion? Why? Well it's the weekend, and it's Spring, which means I have a wedding to shoot this weekend. An outdoor wedding at that. Oh happy day. I love outdoor late afternoon weddings. All that natural light. And no harsh shadows from the mid-day sun = a happy me. The wedding is Saturday afternoon, and after the festivities have died down, I intend to drive my happy butt back to Memphis and start the editing process. Granted, I may pass out on my couch instead, but Sunday, definitely Sunday, the editing will begin so I'll hopefully have a preview up Sunday (fingers crossed!)

I love this. Love it. Before I really started this photography journey, I was one of those people that thought the expensive camera made all the difference. But now, over two years in, I've learned. Most of my early photos were shot with a simple Kodak point and shoot, heck, some even will disposable cameras! It's all honestly how the person behind the camera reacts to situations and adapts to them. And learn you camera! Whether you have a simple point and shoot or a $1,000 Nikon or Canon, learn your settings. It will make all the difference. Even point and shoot cameras allow you to control your aperture and shutter speed (to an extent) and they have pre-programmed settings for portraits, sports, landscapes. I gave my point and shoot away :(  I miss the simplicity, but I have a smaller Nikon Coolpix that I use on occasion, and then of course, my Nikon D3000. I love her. I wish I could get a couple more lenses....Tay Tay? :)

Thanks for reading, and stay tuned, for those wedding photo updates - probably Sunday!!
