Asian Themed Dinner Via the Irish/Scottish Skelton Family

Saturday night, I tried for the first time in my life to make fried rice and beef teriyaki ala the fancy Japanese restaurant down the road that cost WAY too much.

I have to say, I'm proud of myself. I made fried rice with no recipe (scary I know); and added the homemade Yum Yum sauce I made and posted about on Friday. The verdict: SUCCESS.

White Rice - Cooked and cooled - it's important that you let the rice cool, if not, well try it once and see!

And don't forget the onions - I used yellow and green (my fave) You can use as little or as much as you like. All up to you. In the Skelton household, we are onion lovers. Not conducive to kissing; but onions always make for a hell of a meal :)

Beef marinated in teriyaki sauce over night

 The final result: FRIED RICE!!

Beef simmering - crossing fingers it turns out medium rare!

Since there are no Asian genes in the house; we are calling Beef Teriyaki with Fried Rice a complete success. I even made more Fried Rice for lunch today. Good news to the hubs - we no longer have to pay high prices for Japanese food - oh happy day.
