Technology Will Be the Death of Me

Technology is an amazing thing. Amazing. And so are iPhones. But here lately, I've had a massive issue with my iPhone, sorry Steve Jobs.

As I'm sure y'all are aware, iPhones have touchscreens. To answer your phone, you have to 'slide.' To turn your phone off, you have to 'slide' as well.

Well, my touchscreen died :(
On occasion, it will lock up for about 5 minutes, but then will set itself straight. Not this time, phone locked up for more than 24 hours...not good. I love having email, and everything at my fingertips. Needless to say, I was a very unhappy camper.

Tay and I get home from visiting the family yesterday and I immediately head to ATT. Walk in and show the guy my phone. He tries to turn it off. I politely tell him, it will not turn off, the touch screen is not working, ergo...cannot turn off. This friendly fellow tells me he'll go get a "tech guy" to help me out. Tech guy comes out, looks at phone, again, tries to cut it off. How many times must I say, it will not cut off? The touchscreen is broken!!

Finally, someone with a bit more sense comes up. Actually gets the phone to shut off without having to use the screen. Phone comes back on, screen is still locked up. UGH!!!!!

Then I'm politely told, "Sorry, this is an Apple problem."
Wait, what?
You sell iPhones, and don't know how to fix them? Ok sure, that makes sense?
I ask the guy where the nearest Apple store is, Germantown. Ok, fine, I'll drive to Germantown.
Oh no, you have to have an appointment, you can't just walk in the Apple store.
Next available appointment?
Monday.
Oh, technology how I love and hate thee at the same time.
You make my life easier, but half the time I just want to throw you up against the wall and have an adult hissy fit.

This is a little of point, but still similar enough. Years ago, Taylor had a nice Fossil watch that he loved. Well the battery has been dead for a while and I thought that for Christmas I would surprise him with a newly working again watch. Let me say, that I am not a complete idiot and I do know how to change a battery on a normal watch, but Fossil is different. You seriously have to take the watch apart just to change the battery and I decided to leave it to the professionals, or at least I thought.

Over the course of about a month, I have visited 3 separate locations (which shall remain nameless) to see if they can fix the watch. They sell the watch, so I assume they would know how to change the battery. Nope. Every time I go somewhere, I get this weird look....Like, I'm such an idiot for even considering that these people could change the battery.

So basically, at the moment, ATT, Apple, and Fossil are on my list. Yep, that one :)
