Six months ago, I watched this mama work the hardest, best work trying to bring her baby earrthside. It was a long day, things didn't go as planned. Mama rocked and walked and swayed through the contractions; and at the end of the longest day, there was the sweetest baby girl to snuggle and kiss on.

Now, somehow, six months have passed and that little squishy newborn is sitting, babbling, and being the cutest 6 month old. And we documented it with a lake session. It was perfect.

I think sessions are the best when everyone (especially mothers) let's go of their expectations and just parents their kids. Then we capture the moments, the real life. And that is perfect.

This motherhood session got "rained out" but it didn't stop Emily or Emma from embracing it.
Mamas, please don't aim for perfection...in life, in images; it's not real life and it's impossible to achieve. Let go, and love.
