This is something that I have been debating for a while now, but every time I decided I should do it, that little negative voice in the back of my mind said, "You can't do this. This is stupid. Don't do it."
Me and that little voice had a come to Jesus and I've decided to do it.
What's "it" you ask?
"It" is something called Day in the Life Sessions.
This type of session allows me to live beside you for a day in the place where you and your family feel the most comfortable. This session will take place in your comfort zone, ensuring that your little ones are captured authentically. If there is joy and gladness and sadness and fits, my plan is to capture it all; the happy moments, the sad ones, the real ones.
Full Day Session:
6 - 8 hour photography session where I tag along with your family for the day. If you have plans to go to the lake or just play in the backyard, this type of session allows me to embed myself into your life and get comfortable with you and your kids.
This session includes:
- minimum of 100 edited images
- copyright disc of edited images
- a photo book of your session or a 16*20 print from your session
The Half Day Session is just a scaled down version of the Full Day Session. If you are curious about this style of photography and want to try something new, but are afraid to commit to the full day option, then this one if for you!
My goal in offering this type of session is to gain a more photo journalistic approach to how I photograph families; especially since my family will be expanding in July. I take this approach at weddings, but have yet to make the leap into documenting families this way.
Not even being a parent yet, I want real and honest images of my child, the ones that show the imperfections and the cracks, and the exhaustion that comes with raising a family.
I'm currently on my maternity leave and plan to start back shooting in August or September. If this type of session interests you, please let me know, I'm dying to get started!
