How to Make A Cover Photo For Facebook (And it NOT be Blurry)

I use Facebook as a free advertiser for my photography.
And it's great, easy to use, and strokes your ego!

But once they decided to do this whole 'cover photo' thing, it upset me. To no end.
Have you noticed that when you make a photo your cover photo, it's always blurry, NO MATTER WHAT? What gives?

Your ratio.
It's all wrong, and no matter how great the original photo is, once you upload it to be your cover photo, it's going to turn into a hot blurry mess.

Not good for your profile.
Surely, not good for business!

Well, I'm here to solve your cover photo woes.

Again, I use Picasa for this.
And again, it's free!
Download it.
Seriously.
Here's the link: http://picasa.google.com/

Ok, now that you've listened to instructions, its time to make your cover photo.

Open your newly downloaded Picasa.
Any photos that you have saved ANYWHERE on your computer will automatically be uploaded.
Talk about a time saver.

Click on two or three photos that you feel portray you or your business.
Then click (at the top) Create - Picture Collage.

Once you've started your collage, on the left hand side, your going to see a drop down box for your page format. That's the key to making a pretty cover.

Just like in the above photo, click the drop down box, then custom aspect ratio, and type in the ratio that you want: 851 x 315.

Now that the format is taken care of, it's time to play around and figure out your cover photo.
Play around with the grid slider. And the settings. You can do mosaic, frame, grid, and a few more.

Once you fiddle around enough, your result should be similar to this:
