I was sitting in my Senior math class.
My history teacher rushes in, whispers something in the math teacher's ear and steps out.
We all ask, "what's going on?"
He responds, "Mrs. Halbrook will tell y'all next period."
The bell rang soon thereafter.
We were told that two planes had purposely ran into the World Trade Center in New York City.
We didn't know what it meant.
We were told it was a malicious attack on the United States.
Classes were canceled for the entire day. Every student in our small school went into the library, glued to the 1970s TV's in there and watched CNN all day until it was time to go home.
I remember it like it was yesterday.
