It's officially December, which means it's now officially time to start getting ready for Christmas. I refuse to start decorating until December has hit; November is for Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving is for giving thanks; not for great deals on Black Friday or planning your future decorations.
Normally, we deck the halls, to the umpth degree. Check out the pic below, that was our house in Indianola in December 2009...Yeah, we had a lot of free time on our hands apparently :)
It took all day, literally 8 hours of putting up lights, blowing fuses, running to Wal-Mart to get more lights, more extension cords, and a massive surge protector. We loved the final product. Loved it!
This is the remnants from our tree last year. Disaster does not even begin to cover it. I don't think Webster's has a word for what happened to us last year. If you want the full story, read past blog posts from December 2010.
And the below pics are our decorations this year. We have scaled down dramatically. Number one because when we lived in Indianola, we had Tay's daddy help us. Wall-e isn't around to help us up here! Number two, our lease is up December 31, so on top of packing and organizing, I would have to un-decorate the house, no thanks! So this year, we are not Grinch's or Scrooge's, we are just trying to be smart and pray that our moving goes smoothly. Did I mention that we still don't have a house lined up? Come January, we are going to homeless....We have researched and done our due diligence when it comes to a new rental, but every time we fall in love with a house, it's never available for very long :(
Oh well, it's just God's way of saying it's not the house for us. Anywho, back to Christmas!
'Fancy' monogrammed stockings, thanks Target :)
Our only ornament on our tree
Our Charlie Brown Christmas tree! Yes, it's the only Christmas tree we have in the house :(
Randolph, Rudolph's not so bright cousin :)
