Yesterday marked the beginning of my 6th month of pregnancy. Yay! Time feels like it's flying by, and then other times, it feels like time is barely ticking along. In 16 weeks (4 months) Tater Baby will be making his/her arrival. And we are under prepared! We have a crib (still in the box), we have a few clothing options, and a handful of names. And no where to live come July. That's where we are.
I know plenty of people who have already started their nursery at this point, bought everything their little one will ever need plus some extra, but we are still in limbo about purchaing more items and setting up our nursery. We did fill out lots of paperwork and started the house hunting process, but house hunting in a small town is a challenge. There just aren't many homes on the market, and the ones on the market are either way over budget or needs so much work that it just isn't feasible to get it done before Tater Baby arrives.
Am I panicking (on the outside)?
Heavens no!
On the inside?
I'm thinking about a million different scenarios; all of which don't benefit Tater Baby or us.
As an almost new mother, my goal is to bring our baby home, to our house where Tater Baby has a completed nursery. The rest of the house can be in complete shambles, but I want Tater Baby to have his/her own completed space. Family keeps telling us not to settle on a house, that we can always stay with them, but once Tater Baby arrives, I'm 99% sure that's the last thing I would want! The three of us, plus Norman, are going to need time to learn to be a family with a new baby, and we think that would be too difficult at someone else's house.
Now, for some 24 week updates.
- Tater Baby is moving and kicking up a storm. All the time!
- Girl name: decided!
- Boy name: 4 options.
- Feeling like a whale :)
- Swelling has started - ankles have disappeared and rings are gone :(
- Fatigue is starting to make a comeback
-Sleep is nonexistenent. It happens in about one hour bursts. I'm up almost every hour going to the bathroom!
-The restless leg thing also makes sleep impossible. I now sleep with 4 pillows.
All in all, I'm feeling really good. Just dying to find a house so we can start to set up the nursery!
And of course, the 24 week photos.
