Familiar Things

I don't know about you, but movies are an important staple in my life; similar to air, water, food...you know, the necessities. I love curling up on the couch, closing the curtains, cutting the A/C down low and watching a movie. I love how movies affect your mood and you have to be in a certain mood to watch certain movies. The other day, I did something that would make my brothers proud. I was on my computer, uploading and editing pictures, and noticed that Smokey and the Bandit was about to come on. What did I do? Put the computer down, grabbed a Diet Mountain Dew and planted my butt firmly on the couch and watched the whole thing. Oh how I hate that I just admitted that!

My taste in movies varies across a broad spectrum; from The Big Chill to Hoosiers to Chicago and Moulin Rouge. BUT, my favorite movies are those that depict the south or take place in the South; regardless of how the South is portrayed. I have O Brother Where Art Thou memorized, as well as Ghosts of Mississippi and even Miss Firecracker.

Dear reader, I will spare you my extensive knowledge of films. It's probably easier to tell you what movies I haven't seen that what I have. If you know me, you know I love Gone with the Wind, but there are some movies which I haven't seen, and I'm blushing with shame to admit. I have never seen Schindler's List or The Sound of Music in it's entireity. God, please don't stike me down!

Have you ever watched a movie and just fallen in love with the location or the house or just something about it speaks to you and you can't explain it. Well that happens a lot to me; but I can't list every one and I couldn't find all the photos I wanted. Below is a small sample of my favorite locations from movies.

The bridge from Elizabethtown; Beaver Bridge, and it's in Arkansas, strangely enough.

Francesca's farm house from The Bridges of Madison County
(Did I mention that Drew, my twin LOVES this movie...no joke, he calls me every single time its on)

 House from Forrest Gump

And below is the be all and end all of all movie houses. Do you have a guess on which movie?
Don't give up....Take a guess :)

The house from The Notebook
