39 Weeks (Tater Baby 2.0)

Today is technically 39 weeks 4 days, but once you get to this point in pregnancy, it doesn't matter. You are pregnant. You are huge. You no longer dread labor and delivery and all of those fears you had early on slip into nothingness and you beg and plead and pray for this baby to come (without a medical induction).

Baby is active and moving.
Insomnia is in full swing.
Nesting is happening like crazy. My bathrooms and baseboards have never been cleaner.
I do laundry everyday to ensure Tay has enough scrubs and clean underwear for work in case I go into labor.

Baby is still at a +1 station, and cervix is still posterior. No dilation. No effacement.
My body LOVES pregnancy and refuses to let go of this baby. Then again, I'm thankful for a body that can carry babies to term...a lot of mama's can't and face complications due to it. I'd take this any day.

Baby is measuring big, but again, we will take a big healthy baby any day of the week. We don't have exact measurements for 2 reasons: we haven't had an ultrasound in a while and because this late in the game, ultrasounds can be off by almost 2 pounds and we don't want an ultrasound to determine the method of delivery; you know what I mean..."Baby is measuring big, we need to do a section." And baby comes out a normal 7 pounds. I'm so thankful for my doctor who's just letting us ride this out. It's completely different from the last few weeks of pregnancy with Henry. We had biophysical profiles done almost daily and our induction was scheduled the day I hit 39 weeks for 40 weeks and 4 days...Now, if this baby starts to develop some of the issues that Henry and I had (PIH) then, of course, we will schedule our induction.

For the time being, we are enjoying the last few days/weeks as a family of 3.
And enjoying the (semi) quiet.

And I'm lucky y'all. I don't have stretch marks anywhere. I got them with Henry around week 32 and only on the belly and then this time they showed back up around week 35, but they don't bother me. It's a part of who I am and they tell the story of the two babes this belly has housed and grown. And let's be honest, I'm a decently modest woman who hides behind her camera; taking a photo of my belly is one thing, but actually wearing a two piece bathing suit - in front of people?...I'm 32 and never done a thing. So, these bad boys can stick around for all I care. They tell a story.

If baby hasn't made his/her big debut by Monday, we will schedule a follow-up appointment and then keep on trucking!
