A few weeks ago, I received an email from a soon-to-bride panicking about engagement photos. Her wedding photographer had recently moved, and she needed engagement photos. We chatted for a bit and we decided that we would like to work together. And then she told me where she would like to have the photos done. Oxford, Ole Miss to be exact.
Dilemma. I graduated from Mississippi State, a sworn enemy of Ole Miss, but I told the sweet girl that we could set our differences aside and work together. And I'm glad we did.
We decided to meet early in the morning to try and beat the heat. On my drive down, the fog was thick and ominous, and I just kept thinking how great the fog would look in photos.
Of course, once I arrived, the fog lifted, but it was still beautiful.
Our first stop was Rowan Oak, once home to William Faulkner. I arrived about 20 minutes early for two reasons: I can't stand to be late and because I wanted to snoop around the grounds.
While snooping around the grounds, (all alone in the woods in the early morning), something jumped out of the tree I was walking under. I uttered a profanity or two, and turned to see the cutest fattest black and white kitty sauntering around giving me the look, "What are you doing here? It's too early."
Sorry Kitty!
After I regained my composure, the couple showed up; looking cute and happy and ready.
